Abstract:
To provide a permanent magnet keeper-shield assembly.
The magnet keeper-shield assembly adapted to hold and preserve a permanent magnet used for generating a high-gradient magnetic field. Such magnetic field can be penetrated into a deep target tumor area in order to attract a magnetically responsive microcarrier. The magnet keeper-shield assembly includes a magnetically transparent keeper-shield having bores dimensioned to hold the magnet. A screw power transmission actuator is used to partially extrude the magnet from the keeper-shield. This actuator is assisted by several springs extended through the base portion of the keeper-shield.
