Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a linear drive motor which is efficient relatively compact and lightweight as compared with a conventional one. CONSTITUTION: The inventive permanent magnet linear motor comprises a fixed module 10 comprising several permanent magnets 12 arranged at a predetermined interval, and a moving module 18 comprising a pair or more of U-shaped electromagnets 20, 22. The permanent magnets are arranged while alternating N and S poles on a plane and spaced apart from an adjacent electromagnet by a distance equal to the distance between the permanent magnets arranged on the fixed module. Furthermore, the electromagnets are connected such that when one electromagnet is matched with the gap between two permanent magnets, the other electromagnet is matched with a third permanent magnet.
