Abstract:
To obtain a permanent wave pretreating agent capable of preventing damage to the hair caused when perming is carried out, enhancing the wave- forming ability, imparting elasticity to the hair and further enhancing wave holding effects simply by coating even the already damaged hair therewith prior to the perming.
This permanent wave pretreating agent is composed by including 0.1 to ≥20 wt.% of a hydrolyzed keratin having 9,000-50,000 average molecular weight. A dimethyldiallylammonium chloride-acrylic acid copolymer or a dimethyldiallylammonium chloride-acrylic acid-acrylamide terpolymer in an amount of 0.01-5 wt.% is preferably contained in the permanent wave pretreating agent.
