To provide a permanent wave treatment method that permits effective formation of a permanent wave while reducing damages of the hair and enhancing a hand touch feeling, and an intermediate treatment agent for a permanent wave used for such a treating method.
The permanent wave treatment method comprises treating the hair with a permanent wave first agent and subsequently applying to the hair, before treating the hair with an intermediate acid rinsing agent, an intermediate treatment agent for a permanent wave comprising (a) and (b) below. (a) Hydrolyzed keratin having an average molecular weight of 25,000-35,000. (b) A protein composition separated from wool or human hair and purified that has a molecular weight of 8,000-12,000 comprising a protein having an average molecular weight of 11,000 and a protein having an average molecular weight of 9,700 each measured by gel permeation chromatography.
