Abstract:
PURPOSE: The title resin having a high diffusion rate of a solute in gel and excellent mechanical strengths, prepared by water-insolubilizing a specified N- alkyl- or N-alkylene-substituted (meth)acrylamide polymer.
CONSTITUTION: A (co)polymer obtained by (co)polymerizing an N-alkyl- or N- alkylene-substituted (meth)acrylamide monomer of formula I or II [wherein R1 is H or methyl, R2 is H, methyl, or ethyl, R3 is methyl, ethyl, or propyl, A is -(CH2)n or -(CH2)2-O-(CH2)2-, and n is 4W6] with, optionally, other copolymerizable monomers (e.g., acrylamide) in the presence of a polymerization initiator (e.g., ammonium presulfate) is water-insolubilized by heating to 60W250°C.
