CONSTITUTION: A decoder part 2 to decode a PB signal received by a public line circuit 1 into a digital signal, a control circuit to output the decoded signal through a bus 9 and to input the voice data from a personal computer 6 through the bus 9, a voice responding circuit 5 to output the sound signal corresponding to the voice data to the public line circuit 1, and an interface circuit 11 to be connected to the bus 9 and to exchange the signal with the household electric appliances, etc., by a tele-controller function are provided. Further, the household electric appliances, etc., are controlled by the signal decoded by the decoder part 2, the state of the household electric appliances, etc., is detected, the prescribed voice data corresponding to the state are obtained, and the control condition, etc., of the household electric appliances, etc., are monitored. Thus, the electric appliances made by the different manufacturers can be controlled, and the application of the tele-controller can be expanded.
