The personal information management system includes user information storage means of storing user information, and user acquaintance information storage means of storing user acquaintance information including personal information associated with the relatives and acquaintances, and is characterized in that the user acquaintance information includes disclosure propriety information defining whether to disclose the user information and user acquaintance information by the relatives and acquaintances of the user when the user dies, and relatives and acquaintances of the user that the disclosure propriety information defines as relatives and acquaintances to which the user information and user acquaintance information are allowed to be disclosed are allowed to access the user information and acquaintance information according to contents of the disclosure propriety information.
