Abstract:
Producing an article of material with a coherent lamellar structure comprises mixing a polyolefin with a material that forms a barrier to chemicals and has a melting point at least 5[deg]C higher than that of the polyolefin and with a compatibilizing agent, extruding the mixture to form a film sheath, and blow-stretching the sheath until the film thickness is 60-190 mu m. Independent claims are also included for: (1) film with a thickness of 60-190 mu m comprising a barrier materials as above dispersed with the aid of a compatibilizing agent in a continuous polyolefin phase; (2) producing a protective article by hot-molding a film produced as above; (3) article of individual protection whose walls comprise a film as above.
