Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a pest-controlling material capable of sufficiently inducing pests over a long period of time, and presenting excellent pest-controlling efficacy.
CONSTITUTION: This pest-controlling material is obtained by carrying a pest- controlling active ingredient on a base material presenting pest-inducive color (e.g. yellow) by an azo coloring matter. The azo coloring matter is pref. an azo pigment, esp. pref. a disazo pigment, insoluble azo pigment or condensed azo pigment, and from the standpoint of pest-inducive color tone, a yellow or blue azo coloring matter is generally used, its amount to be used being 0.01-100 (pref. 0.1-20)g per m2 of the pest-controlling material when used by applying it to a base material or used in a thin piece such as a sheetlike material. The pest-controlling active ingredient is an insecticidal active ingredient capable of poisoning induced pests (e.g. pyrethroid compound) or an insect growth-controlling active ingredient to reduce the pest density in the next generation through making induced pests infertile (e.g. juvenile hormone active compound).
