Abstract:

PURPOSE: To identify that the color of an object to be discriminated in color is equal to one of a plurality of reference colors without adjustment by using one device only even when any color identification is performed.
CONSTITUTION: By comparing the several pieces of color information (X, Y, Z) of a color to be identified with the several pieces of color information (X, Y, Z) of a reference color, the most different color information is selected and the degree of belonging of the color to be identified to all reference colors is decided depending upon the difference. Namely, color identifying means l and 7 which decide that the color to be identified belongs to the reference color having the largest degree of belonging by regarding colors having larger differences as colors having smaller degrees of belonging and colors having smaller differences as colors having larger degrees of belonging.
