To provide pet food capable of being chipped easily into a predetermined size manually after brought to be a product as dry meat, even though raw meat contains muscle fibers, and capable of being produced at low cost.
The pet food is produced by adding a proteinase to the raw meat containing muscle fibers and drying the same, and is superior in bending and cracking properties. As the proteinase, a protease is preferable. As the raw meat, chicken, such as white meat, breast or thigh is preferable. The pet food is brought to be a product, by soaking the raw meat weighed in a weighing step 1 into an aqueous solution added with the proteinase in a soaking step 2, subsequently subjecting the same to a drying step 3 and a deactivation step 4, and delivering after packing in a packing step 5.
