Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for reforming a petroleum-based liquid fuel by which an excellent reforming effect of the liquid fuel is precisely obtained by using a specific ceramic material. SOLUTION: This reforming apparatus of the liquid fuel obtained by forming a column 2 in a fuel-feeding passage connecting a liquid fuel tank of a combustion engine to a combustion chamber, packing many ceramic small spheres 1 in the column 2, to allow the petroleum-based liquid fuel to pass so as to be brought into contact with the small spheres 1 is obtained by using the vitreous small spheres 1 obtained by adding an activated mineral water produced by alternatively repeating a step for passing water pressurized to 5-25 atm through a mineral inorganic material selected from basalt, andesite and magnetite so as to be brought into contact with the mineral inorganic material, and a step for aerating the water subjected to the step in an atmosphere of the pressure smaller than the above pressure, to a vitreous ceramic raw material, and mixing the resultant product, and melt-forming the solid component of the mixed raw material.
