This polymeric composition capable of releasing the nitric oxide comprises any biopolymer backbone of an oligonucleotide, a nucleic acid a tissue-, a cell- or a tumor-specific antibody or a fragment thereof and a protein containing a recognition sequence of the receptor-ligand interaction suitable for adhesion to tumorous cells and at least one nitric oxide releasing N2O2- functional group bound to the backbone and represented by the following formula (wherein M+x is a pharmaceutically acceptable cation; (x) is the valence of the cation).
