Abstract:

To obtain the subject composition useful for osteoporosis, etc., by including a non-peptide substance for stimulating the formation of bone and polyethylene glycol.

This composition for preventing and treating bone diseases contains a compound of formula I [the ring A is a (substituted) benzene ring; R is H, a (substituted) hydrocarbon; B is carboxyl or the like; X is CH(OH) or the like; (k) is 0, 1; (k') is 0, 1, 2] or its salt, or an optically active compound of formula II (R3 is a lower alkyl; R4 is a lower alkyl or the like), and polyethylene glycol having a weight-average mol.wt. of about 200-9,000 or its derivative (preferably polyglycolized glyceride) in a non-peptide substance: polyethylene glycol weight ratio of about 1:(0.5-2,000) and, if necessary, further a glycerol fatty acid ester (preferably a fatty acid triglyceride), is sufficiently satisfiable on clinical utilization for preventing and treating the bone diseases, and has the effect not only on a parenteral administration but also on an oral administration.
