Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare a pharmaceutical composition useful for treating calcium deficiency diseases by dissolving a calcitonin in water and causing the fibrillation.
CONSTITUTION: This composition is prepared by adding water, a dilute solution of NaCl or a weak acid solution such as a 0.001-0.5% acetic acid solution to a human, a salmon, an eel or a pig calcitonin powder, incubating the calcitonin preferably at room temperature, fibrillating, fragmenting the calcitonin into a rodlike form having about 15nm average diameter and 26-130nm length within a blender, etc., to obtain a fibrillated calcitonin and including a thickening and gelling agent and/or a saccharide and/or other pharmaceutically acceptable additives in the fibrillated calcitonin.
