PURPOSE: To provide the subject new compound useful for treating the diseases caused and mediated by leukotriene.

CONSTITUTION: This compound represented by formula I e.g. N-<1-[4-(quinolin-2- ylmethoxy)benzyl]indol-5-ylcarbonyl-2-methylbenzene sulfonamide, is obtained by allowing the compound of formula II to react with the compound of formula III (X1 is a releasing group). In the formula I, A is H, -(CR1R2)xR3[(x) is 0 to 4, R1, R2 are each H, 1-4C alkyl; R3 is -CN, -COOH, tetrazolyl, or the like]; >X-Y-Z- is >N-CR5=CR6-(R5, R6 are each H, 1-4C alkyl or the like), >C=R5- NR7-(R7 is H, 1-4C alkyl or the like), or the like.
