Abstract:
PURPOSE: To constitute the PLL with irreducible circuit elements and to structure it as an integrated circuit even when the time constant is extremely large in integrating operation.
CONSTITUTION: Corresponding to an instantaneous value of a control signal T, a 3rd capacitor C3 is connected by a switching means SW in parallel to a 2nd capacitor C2 and supplied with a reference voltage. When both the capacitors C2 and C3 are connected in parallel, negative feedback effect becomes larger and an output signal becomes smaller at the time of a specific input signal VIN as compared with negative feedback through only the capacitor C2. Further, the output signal VOUT depends upon the phase difference between the input signal VIN and a control signal T. When both the signals are in phase with each other, the output signal VOUT with a constant mean value is generated and when both the signals are out of phase with each other, the output signal VOUT varies in mean value. This circuit constitution has both effects of phase decision making and integration.
