Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a high precision phase sensing actuator with high reliability from a smaller number of component parts. CONSTITUTION:When a steering shaft 23 is turned from a steering wheel 24, the torque is transmitted to a pinion shaft 21 to move a rack 22b, and the reaction force from a rack 22a is applied to the pinion shaft 21, so that a phase shift is generated between a 1st magnet assembly 27 fixed to the shaft 21 and a 2nd magnet assembly 30 fixed to the steering shaft 23, and an induction current flows in an exciter coil 33. To this coil a current is fed from a control device 36 in compliance with the induction current, and a magnetism is generated in the exciter coil 33, and the interaction between the magnetism and a cylindrical permanent magnet 28 produced the locating force for a sleeve secured to the pinion shaft 21 relative to the spool fixed to the steering shaft 23.
