Title:
PHASED ARRAY ANTENNA
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000228606
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To reduce deterioration in a directivity gain due to gaps among radiators caused when the radiators consisting of a plurality of antenna elements are arranged in a triangular form for a configuration of a phased array antenna used mainly for communication and to realize the antenna configuration where a gain reduction is circumferentially uniform.

In the phased array antenna, the shape of each radiator Am formed by arranging each antenna element at a pitch of 1 wavelength or below is made to be a cross shape, and the radiators Am are arranged without a gap to realize a configuration of a regular triangle arrangement. Thus, the module configuration is facilitated and the directivity gain can be enhanced. Since the aperture ratio of the radiators in the X, Y axis direction is nearly equal, the difference of the directivity gain reduction at each cut face in the case of beam scanning can also be improved.
