Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a hydrogel contact lens which is formed by reaction of a polymerizable composition and has a polymer lens body formed thereon; a batch of the hydrogel contact lens; a package of the hydrogel contact lens; and a method for producing the hydrogel contact lens from the polymerizable composition.SOLUTION: A hydrogel contact lens is derived from a polymerizable composition containing at least one hydrophilic monomer and at least one phosphine-containing component. A hydrogel of the contact lens is a silicon hydrogel or a non-silicone hydrogel. The polymerizable composition containing the phosphine-containing component is used for forming a hydrogel contact lens which is obtained by being cured in both inactive and air atmospheres, and has improved contour holding power and improved discoloration resistivity. A method produces a batch of a hydrogel contact lens and a hydrogel contact lens.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
