PURPOSE: To prevent falling of phosphor particles by using a binder so that brightness is not deteriorated in a color display PDP(plasma display panel).
CONSTITUTION: A liquid-like component 14 composed of a hydrolytic condensation product of tetraethoxy silane, a vehicle and solvent and phosphor particles 16 are mixed and agitated together, and paste 10 is created. The paste 10 is printed on backing 12, and afterwards, the paste 10 is baked. The condensation product is oxidized by heating of baking, and creates SiO2, and a phosphor layer 20 composed of the SiO2 as a binder 20 and the particles 16 is obtained. Due to the existence of the binder 20, sticking strength between the mutual particles 16 and between the particles 16 and the backing 12 is heightened. Since the binder 20 is formed so as to expose the particles 16 of a surface layer of the phosphor layer 20, the deterioration of brightness can be prevented.
