Abstract:
To provide a phosphor prevented from temporal deterioration by vacuum ultraviolet rays; to provide a method for producing the phosphor; and to provide a plasma display panel produced by using such the phosphor.
The phosphor using Mn as the luminescence center is obtained by carrying out atmospheric firing after acid treatment, and carrying out a reducing treatment after the atmospheric firing so that divalent Mn may be present in a mixed state with one of tri- and tetra-valent Mn or both Mn in the interior of the phosphor particle, and ≥80 mass% of the Mn at the surface of the phosphor particle may be divalent.
