PURPOSE: To provide the subject substance obtained by doping an inorg. intercalation compd. having an atomic structure interdispersed with vacant spaces with activator ions capable of luminescent emission and introducing a conductive material into the vacant spaces, having high luminance and maintenance and useful for liquid crystal display back illumination.
CONSTITUTION: The objective substance is obtained by doping an inorg. intercalation compd. 10 such as (fluoro)mica or the like having an atomic structure 12 interdispersed with vacant spaces having a size permitting a different atom or a different molecule to enter the spaces with activator ions 28 (B) capable of luminescent emission by an electric field and other exciting rays, for example, ions of magnesium, iron, europium or the like and introducing a conductive polymer such as polypyrrole 30 or the like and other conductive material (C) into the vacant spaces 14 of the component A10.
