NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formulaI(R is H, OH or hydroxysulfonyloxy) or its salt.
USE: Antimicrobial agent against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, etc., and intermediate of pharmaceuticals, etc. It is stable against the kidney homogenate of mammals.
PROCESS: The antibiotic substance of formula II, OA-6129A, B or C is made to react with cultured cells or treated cells of microorganisms capable of converting pantothenic acid to phosphate, in the presence of adenosine-5'-triphosphate (ATP) preferably at 30W40°C for 0.5W10hr under ordinary enzymatic reaction conditions using the above antibiotic substance as substrate (e.g. buffer solution having pH of 6W8.5 and obtained by washing cultured cells of Brevibacterium ammoniagenes ATCC 6871).
