A user selects a prescribed background in photographing among multiple background curtains. An ID reader reads an ID of a curtain ID tag provided in the selected background curtain, and informs to a control device. The control device determines color of the background curtain based on the informed ID. When the color is not a light color, flashlight is charged with a first reference intensity, and when it is a light color, the flashlight is charged with a second reference intensity. Variation of brightness of a strobe according to the color of the background curtain enables photographing with an appropriate color tone.
