PURPOSE: To make quick charge-discharge possible and to obtain long cycle life by dividing electrodes on both sides of a cell using a Cu+ ion conductive solid electrolyte into a photoelectrode and a capacity electrode.
CONSTITUTION: A photo positive electrode 2 comprising a mixture of a n-type semiconductive material and a Cu+ ion conductive solid electrolyte, a capacity positive electrode 3 comprising a mixture of an intercalation material and a Cu+ ion conductive solid electrolyte, and an electrolyte comprising a Cu+ ion conductive solid electrolyte are formed. A capacity negative electrode 5 comprising a mixture of an intercalation material or a mixture of Cu and Cu2S and a Cu+ ion conductive solid electrolyte, and a photo negative electrode 4 comprising a mixture of a p-type semiconductive material and a Cu+ ion conductive solid electrolyte are formed. A cell is formed with photoelectrodes having wide band gap and capacity electrodes having narrow band gap. A photo secondary cell in which quick photocharge and quick discharge are made possible and the life is longthened is obtained.
