Abstract:
To provide a photocatalyst having high decomposability even at a low temperature of about room temperature (0 to 40°C) and to provide a functional body using the same.
The photocatalyst in which a surface layer consisting of MOXCY (M is a metal) is provided on a surface of a photocatalyst film consisting essentially of titanium oxide is formed. Preferably M is a kind of metal selected from a group composed of Y, La, Sc, Gd, Er, Yb, Sm and Pr or a mixture thereof. Further preferably atomic number ratio (Y/X) of oxygen and carbon is in a range between 0.02 and 0.2.
