Abstract:
To provide a visible light responsive photocatalytic member excellent in thermal and chemical stability.
The photocatalytic composite material comprises a substrate and a layer formed on the surface of the substrate and containing titanium oxide and a binder to fix the titanium oxide. An oxygen defect exists in the titanium oxide. The binder is an inorganic matter curable by dehydrating polycondensation, and contains at least one kind of a hydrolyzate of silicate and an alkali silicate. Thermal treatment is performed to cure the inorganic binder for fixing the titanium oxide, where the temperature for curing the inorganic binder is preferably ≥500°C.
