Abstract:
To provide photocatalytic pulp particles having high deodorizing and antibacterial properties and a high water solubility and suitable to be used as toilet beds for pets.
Pulp is compounded with titanium oxide and stirred with a mixer 80 to give a photocatalytic pulp composition wherein titanium oxide is fixed on the surfaces of pulp fibers (production step of a photocatalytic pulp composition). With a stirrer-granulator 100, the composition is pulverized to a fiber length of 3 mm or lower (pulverizing step) and the pulverized photocatalytic pulp composition is compounded with a binder and granulated to give granules (granulation step). The granules are dried to give the objective photocatalytic pulp particles (drying step).
