PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photochromic compound and a composition.SOLUTION: Compounds generally containing an indeno[2',3':3,4]naphtho[1,2-b]pyran structure are described in this invention. The compounds can be useful for their photochromic characteristics and are used in a specified photochromic composition. The composition may contain another photochromic composition and/or another material. The compound and/or the composition may be suitable for preparation of a specified photochromic article.
