To obtain the subject new compound comprising a specific photochromic pyrazolyl fulgide compound, having a long-wavelength absorption region and chemically high stability and utilizable in various fields such as recording materials and optical element materials.
This new photochromic pyrazolyl flugide compound is represented by formula I [R1 is a 1-30C alkyl, a 6-12C (substituted) phenyl or a (substituted) aralkyl; R2 and R3 are each a 1-10C alkyl, a 6-12C (substituted) phenyl, a(substituted aralkyl or H or a group of formula II (formula II is adamantylidene); R4 is H, a 1-10C alkyl, a 6-12C (substituted) phenyl, a (substituted) aralkyl or a halogen; R5 is a 1-30C alkyl, a 6-12C (substituted) phenyl, a (substituted) alkyl or H; R6 is a 1-10C alkyl, a 6-12C (substituted) phenyl, a substituted amino, a halogen or H; X is O or a group of the formula N-R7 [R7 is a 1-30C alkyl, a 6-12C (substituted) phenyl, a 3-30C (meth)acrylic acid alkylester, etc.]. The compound is utilizable in various kinds of fields such as recording materials and optical element materials.
