PURPOSE: To reduce an overall plane dimension and installation space by installing a character plate storage in such a manner as to freely move vertically within a moving range of character plate tables.
CONSTITUTION: Character plates 12 are mounted on frames 16 to be freely removed therefrom, and are positioned in such a manner that positions and dimensions of characters are at a fixed rate from reference positions of the frames 16. The character plates 12 and the frames 16 are provided to be integrally stored, or received and fixed respectively in a character plate storage 5 or a character plate table 2. Therefore, the character plate storage 5 stays within the moving range of the character plate table 2, and when the characters 12 and the frames 16 are housed into the character plate table 2 or stored in the character plate storage 5, the storage 5 is lowered and does not protrude from the machine body 1, resulting in an overall reduction in a flat space and requirement for a smaller space for installation and the machine may be used in a small place.
