PURPOSE: To obtain the title colorless, transparent adhesive of a high bonding strength, by using (2-methyl-2-acetonyl-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl)methyl methacrylate and glycidyl methacrylate as effective components.
CONSTITUTION: A photocurable adhesive is formed by using (2-methyl-2- acetonyl-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl)methyl methacrylate and glycidyl methacrylate as effective components. This photocurable adhesive is highly sensitive to light, so that by irradiating the adhesive sandwiched between adherends at least one of which is transparent, with light the adherends can be bonded together in good strength within a short time. The bonding layer is colorless, highly transparent and excellent in water resistance, heat resistance, etc. By adding a photopolymerization initiator (e.g., benzophenone) to the adhesive, the adherends can be bonded fully within a much shorter time.
