Title:
PHOTODETECTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3657701
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photodetector with which a photodetecting means can be surely cooled in a vacuum.
SOLUTION: This device 1 is constituted by arranging a cooling element 2 and a photodetecting element 3 inside a sealed housing 11. The photodetecting element 3 is attached to the cold side 21 side of the cooling element 2, and a hot side 22 of that cooling element 3 is pressed to a radiator 4 inside the housing 11 with metallic foil 5 inbetween. Therefore, since from the structure for attaching the cooling element 2 no gas is released, the surrounding space of the photodetecting element 3 can be surely kept in a vacuum state. Besides, heat generated from the cooling element 3 is efficiently conducted through the metallic foil 5 to the radiator. Further, even when the surface of the cooling element 3 or the radiator 4 is warped, the soft metallic foil 5 is tightly adhered between these cooling element 2 and radiator 4 and no gap generates so that heat conductivity can be prevented from being deteriorated. Therefore, satisfactory cooling characteristics can be provided.
