To provide a metal complex pigment and a dye-sensitized solar cell, which achieve excellent performances by supporting reduction of variation in performances and improvements of photoelectric conversion efficiency and durability at the same time.
In a photoelectric conversion element having a conductive support, a photoreceptor layer containing an electrolyte, a charge transfer body layer containing an electrolyte, and a counter electrode, the photoreceptor layer has semiconductor particles supporting a metal complex pigment represented by the following formula (I): M(LD)(LA)(CI)..Formula (I) [where M represents a metal ion; LD and LA each represents a tridentate ligand of a specific hetero ring; and CI represents a counter ion required for charge neutralization]. A dye-sensitized solar cell is also provided.
