Title:
PHOTOELECTRIC CONVERSION ELEMENT AND PHOTOELECTROCHEMICAL BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000299139
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To eliminate a pigment loss over aging to improve durability by containing semiconductor fine grain sensitized by a pigment with partial structure allowing two calboxyl groups to be simultaneously adsorbed to a semiconductor, in a photosensitive layer of an element.

This photoelectric conversion element contains semiconductor fine grain sensitized by a pigment expressed by formula I, in a photosensitive layer. In the formula I, L is a trivalent coupling group, DYE is a pigment residual group, and n=1-4. DYE is preferably a methine pigment residual group or a squarylium pigment. L is preferably a trivalent coupling group 2-20 in the total number of carbon expressed by a formula II or III. In the formulas II, III, (*) represents a coupled part to a carboxyl group, and (**) represents (c). R21 to R34 are each H, alkyl, aryl, heterocyclic groups or the like. L21 is a single bond or bivalent coupling group, and L31 is a trivalent coupling group with a coupled part to DYE, concretely a pigment or the like expressed by a formula IV. As the semiconductor fine grain, TiO2 or Nb2O3 is preferable.
