Abstract:

To provide a photoelectric conversion material, which shows an excellent property as an electron donor or electron acceptor and is readily soluble in an organic solvent.

A BHJ solar cell includes a photoelectric conversion layer having a mixture of a donor domain and an acceptor domain. The donor domain comprises a polymer obtained by further response of a specific polyphenylene, wherein the polymer acts as a donor (photoelectric conversion material). Meanwhile, an acceptor that configures the acceptor domain is phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM).
