In the photoelectric converter manufactured by the steps of: arranging a number of granular crystal semiconductors 2 expressing one conduction type on a substrate 1 having one electrode 1' layer and connecting them to the substrate 1, arranging a semiconductor layer 4 expressing reverse conduction type on the semiconductors 2 by filling gaps between the semiconductors 2 with insulators 3, and connecting the other electrodes to the layer 4 expressing the reverse conduction type, the insulator 3, comprising mixtures of organic/inorganic composite material including Si and hydrolysate of alkoxysilane fills gaps between the semiconductors 2, prevents the occurrence of defects of cracks, peeling or the like to form the satisfactory insulator 3 having a stable reliability, thus providing the further reliable photoelectric converter.
