To surely detect the carry-in/out of a sleeping car and safely get on or our by arranging the light projector and light receiver of a photoelectric door safety device detecting a person or an object at an entrance at the upper and lower sections of a car entrance.

The light projector 2a of a photoelectric door safety device is provided at the center of the upper section of the entrance 1 of an elevator for a bed, a light receiver is provided at the floor side center of the lower section of the entrance 1, and their outputs are inputted to an entrance state detecting relay 2c. A brush 8 moved on the surface of a reinforced glass 7 is provided above the light receiver 2b, and the surface of the reinforced glass 7 is wiped each time a car door is opened and closed. When no object is detected between the light projector 2a and the light receiver 2b, the light of the light projector 2a is received by the light receiver 2b, a door opening relay is released, and a door closing relay is excited to close the door. When an object is detected between the light projector 2a and the light receiver 2b, the entrance state detecting relay 2c is released, the door opening relay is excited, and the door closing relay is released to keep the door at the open state.
