Title:
PHOTOELECTRIC ENCODER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3256109
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric encoder that can correctly detect moving information.
SOLUTION: A photoelectric encoder is provided with a light emitting element and a light receiving element disposed opposedly to each other, and a moving body X having a plurality of slits X1, X2, X3,... formed and passing between the light emitting element and the light receiving element. The light receiving element has photodiodes Pd1-Pd4 serving as a first light receiving part of 1/2 pitch P in the array direction width of the slits X1, X2, X3,..., and a photodiode Pd5 serving as a second light receiving part of a 2 pitches P in the array direction width. A pair of photodiodes Pd1, Pd2 and a pair of photodiodes Pd3, Pd4 are shifted by 3/4 pitch P mutually in the array direction and arranged symmetrically with respect to the center O where the optical axis of light from the light emitting element passes. The photodiode Pd5 is disposed symmetirically with respect to the center O so as to be overlapped with an area between the photodiodes Pd1, Pd2 and an area between the photodiodes Pd3, Pd4.
