Abstract:
PURPOSE:To increase the output of photo detectors by controlling the film thickness of photoconductive film thereby letting the peak of sensitivity and light emission peak coincide. CONSTITUTION:When the peak wavelength of a monochromatic light source is let to be lambda and the refractive index of the thin film forming the photo detector to be (n), then the thickness (d) of the thin film is d-lambda(N+1/2)/2n. In this way, matching of the characteristics of the light emitting diode and photoconductive film is taken. More specifically, in the light emission spectrum of the light emitting diode, the peak wavelength is at 7100 Angstrom as shown in the figure and therefore the peak sensitivity in the spectral sensitivity curve is matched to the peak of the light emitting diode by controlling the film thickness of the photoconductive film by the above formula.
