To provide a photoepilation device capable of irradiating hair roots except a region unnecessary or dangerous to be irradiated during photoepilation and improving safety of epilation treatment.
An electric motor 5 rotates a ball screw 6 to move a moving mechanism 8 and a mask part 9 in an X-way. The mask part 9 is equipped with a filter to make optical transmittance 0%, which can move in a Y-way orthogonal to the X-way. Body hair is detected by a detector 2 with photographing a skin surface, and irradiated with an epilation light from a light emitter 12 for epilation treatment. In case of any regions to be kept out of irradiation, the mask part 9 is moved in the X-way and Y-way to cover the regions and shield a part of the light from the light emitter 12 thereby.
