PURPOSE: To check the size of a face from a face image on a monitor so as to form a photograph wherein the face image is of a standard size.
CONSTITUTION: A lens cluster 29 consists of four photographic lenses 29a-29d and a monitor lens 29e arranged in the center among them. A total reflecting mirror 34 and an image area sensor 33 which reads out the face image reflected by the total reflecting mirror 34 are provided behind the monitor lens 29e. An image processing part 36 composes an image picked up by the image area sensor 33 and the index 40 of an index signal generation part 37 and displays the composite image on a CRT 31. The face size is decided from the face image and index displayed on the CRT 31 and the photographing position is changed. The photographing position is variously changed within the focal depth of the photographic lenses 29a-29d to vary the image magnifications and the face image is put in the photograph at a proper position with a proper size.
