To improve the latent image keeping performance of a photographic element.

A photographic element is provided which comprises a support bearing at least one radiation-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, wherein (i) a first fraction which comprises 10-90 wt.% silver halide grains based on total radiation-sensitive silver halide contains at least 10-7 mole of a hexacoordination metal complex which satisfies formula (I) per mole of silver and <10-10 mole of a hexacoordination metal complex which satisfies formula (II) per mole of silver in a central portion which accounts for ≤99% of total silver, and (ii) a second fraction which comprises 10-90 wt.% silver halide grains based on the total radiation-sensitive silver halide contains at least 10-10 mole of a hexacoordination metal complex which satisfies the formula (II) per mole of silver and <10-7 mole of a hexacoordination metal complex which satisfies the formula (I) per mole of silver in a central portion which occupies ≤99% of all silver in a central portion which accounts for ≤99% of the total silver. (I) [ML6]n wherein n is zero, -1, -2, -3 or -4; M is a filled frontier orbital polyvalent metal ion, other than iridium; L6 represents crosslinked ligands; (II) [TE4(NZ)E']r wherein T is Os or Ru; E4 represents bridging ligands; E' is E or NZ; r is 0, -1, -2 or 3; and Z is oxygen or sulfur.
