PURPOSE: To offer a photographic film cartridge in which a film is wound around a spool shaft concentrically with respect to the center of the shaft.

CONSTITUTION: In the photographic film cartridge where the spool shaft 20 for which the film 6 is wound and whose end part is engaged is turnably housed in a cartridge main body, the spool shaft 20 is constituted of an external shaft 21 where a pressing part for pressing the take-up starting part of the film 6 toward the center of the spool shaft 20 is provided on a part of a slit in which the end part of the film is inserted and an internal shaft 22 which is inserted in the outer shaft 21 along a shaft direction, and the end part of the film 6 is held between the inner wall of the shaft 21 and the outer wall of the shaft 22 by relatively rotating the shafts 21 and 22 around an axial line. Therefore, the spool shaft is rotated with small torque when it is rotated in film feeding and taking-up directions.
