A user enters his e-mail address in the address space of a used lens-fitted photographic film unit 2 and drops the unit 2 into a mailbox 41. The unit 2 is delivered to a processing station 43 via a post office 42 according to an address and the name written down on the outer package of the unit 2. A seal in the address space is stuck to a film cartridge pulled out of the unit 2 and the cartridge is set in a film developing machine 45. Images on a developed photographic film are converted to digital image data by a film scanner 46. E-mail which tells completion of photographic processing is transmitted to the user's e-mail address through the Internet 48, and when the user checks the e-mail and pays the charge, a data file of the image data becomes downloadable.
