A camera system 10 acting like the photographing apparatus includes: a wide angle lens 2; image processing sections 6, 11 that apply processing to light passing through the wide angle lens 2 to obtain a wide visual field video, directly segment part of the wide visual field video to correct the distortion of the segmented part; and a memory 12 acting like a recording means recordable of the video image whose distortion is corrected by the image processing sections 6, 11. The camera system 10 may be provided with: a recording control section 14 for designating the segmented part and instructing the memory 12 to carry out recording; and a motion detection means 13 for detecting a state change to generate a detection signal.
