Abstract:
To provide an imaging apparatus that can extend a tracking range of exposure while preventing a harmful effect caused by operating a diaphragm during photographing of time-lapse moving images, a method for controlling the imaging apparatus, and a program.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus 100 comprises a system control unit 114 that adjusts at least one of photographic sensitivity, aperture value, and shutter speed for image data to perform exposure control. When performing exposure tracking in time-lapse moving image photographing, the imaging apparatus determines whether a diaphragm operation condition applies based on photographing parameters indicating the degree of variations between pieces of image data obtained through the time-lapse moving image photographing, when the condition does not apply, fixes the aperture value and performs exposure tracking by using at least either one of the shutter speed or the photographic sensitivity, and when the condition applies, adjusts the aperture value preferentially over the shutter speed and the ISO sensitivity to perform exposure tracking.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
