To provide a photography system by which a proper exposure condition can be obtained and an error in photometric value detection due to the kind of a light source can be removed and an error in photometric value and an error in AF value under artificial lighting, as to a photography system which has a lighting device and a photographing device capable of transmission and reception to and from the lighting device.

The photography system equipped with the lighting device and photographing device is characterized in that the lighting device has a light source which provides ordinary lighting, an information storage means which stores lighting information on the light source, and a transmitting means which transmits the lighting information in the information storage means and the photographing device has a receiving means which receives the lighting information sent from the transmitting means of the lighting device, an arithmetic means which calculates a photographic condition on the basis of the lighting information received by the receiving means, and a photography control means which controls the photographing means on the basis of the arithmetic result of the arithmetic means.
