Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photomultiplier tube and a spectrometer having a high- precision spectro-characteristic.
SOLUTION: This photomultiplier tube 1 is constituted by firmly fixing a filter member 20 additionally to a light receiving face plate 3, rather than forming the light receiving face plate 3 itself into a filter. Therefore, the addition of the filtering function to the light receiving face plate 3 can be easily realized, to provide the highly multipurpose photomultiplier tube 1. Then, only the light having the wavelength selected by the filter member 20 firmly fixed to the light receiving face plate 3 is incident on the light receiving face plate 3, thereby an electron multiplying phenomenon due to the light having the specific wavelength is generated by a photomultiplying part 9. Consequently, even the weak light having the selected wavelength can be easily and surely gotten out of an anode 12 as an output signal. And that, the device can be used even for color measuring of an object moving at a high speed, by matching the filtering function with the characteristic of the photomultiplier tube 1.
